Psa: you can buy star credits for the battlepass outside the game.

Open disclosure, i am not promoting these shops or am affiliated with them. Im just sharing based on my knowledge after buying the battle pass for me and my girlfriend as we play together.
As the battlepass is only 428 SC, and the minimum SC to buy ingame is 565 SC, you end up spendig 11-11.5USD (15 singapore dollars!) and wasting 25% of those freaking SC, because you cant buy jack shit with the leftover 100ish SCs unless you topup further. (Netease and its incompetent business models...)
Ive found two main methods to mitigate this.
The first is to buy from Gamers Mall SEA seagm.com . You can buy a smaller increment of SC, the perfect number is 435 for 10.5 sgd. This is actually 9.82 sgd plus 0.81 sgd transaction fee for using paypal. You only waste 7 SC to buy the 428 battlepass. You also get to finally claim the free cap america, marvel, and scarlet witch along with the recharge incentives.
Savings: This works out to 18 cents USD per SC. The ingame cost, fyi, is 19.6 cents USD so a decent 8-9% discount. (Sg guys forgive my USD conversions but hoping to let our bros from rest of sea understand easier)
However to me this is absolutely worth it because
  1. You dont have leftover unusable SC
  2. The 8% discount will increase if you buy more amounts, im sure if you buy 20 odd dollars worth, you probably save closer to 12%-15%
For Singapore gamers i have another potential but not tested hack, using malaysian ringgit. Fyi, singapore, indonesia and thailand gamers get a extra surcharge compared to other sea gamers. For 565 credits, we pay 11-11.50 usd equivalent (15sgd/349 thb/150k rupiah).
Our friends from Malaysian, Philippines pay 9.8 usd (40my499php) so more than 10% less!
The hack is using codashop.com, and simply choosing to pay in malaysian ringgit visa. At the myr price, we pay only 40 ringgit or 13ish sgd instead of 15. The 1odd dollar sounds small but again is a 10% difference that you can use to... buy a cup of kopi? Lol. The rate is close enough at 17ish USD cents per SC, though i admit that forex conversions charges using credit card will probably bump it to 18 cents per SC in the end. Still cheaper than ingame.
Of the two methods, i find the first one with GMSEA is better anyway as you dont need to try to play forex conversions, and you only need enough for the battlepass. Nonetheless both are still cheaper than ingame purchases in both absolute amount ( buying the minimum needed for battlepass) or proportionally (more SC for less spend).
Hope this was helpful!

Setting up financials while waiting for ACR card?

I'm moving from Thailand to Angeles PI and understand that while my application for an ACR card is being processed I won't be able to open a local bank account.
For anyone who has gone through this do you have any tips on speeding up the process or doing anything in advance of the move over?
Also, will I basically have to live on the cash I bring over and/or getting hit with ATM fees/bad forex rates, or is there a better way to send or store money from my Thai bank accounts?

【A Recap of Our Journey】The Inaugural Anniversary of MaxiMine’s Listing!

【A Recap of Our Journey】The Inaugural Anniversary of MaxiMine’s Listing!

June 28 is destined to be an extraordinary date.

It was on this very date in 1712 that famous philosopher Jean Jacob Rousseau was born, and from him came the idea of natural human rights that soon took root in the masses and inspired many other revolutions worldwide.

It was on this very date in 1838 that Alexandra Victoria was crowned the Queen of England. Under her rule, the United Kingdom expanded its reaches and flourished as an empire, saving its reputation from the mess her royal uncles had made.

It was on this very date in 2008 that China completed work on the Beijing National Stadium, the stadium that would host the 2008 Summer Olympics from 8 to 24 August 2008.

10 years later in 2018, the date once again took on an auspicious turn as the MXM token was finally listed on its first international cryptocurrency exchange, HitBTC, after a long time of preparation and wait.

Today, one year later on 28 June 2019, MaxiMine is proud to celebrate its inaugural anniversary of listing. Let our new cartoon ambassador, Little M, take you through a recap of our journey thus far…

https://preview.redd.it/eq07fsvae2731.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=86724cdcb2fe066ad30eff74c412954e19ea039e

MaxiMine is one of the world’s leading blockchain mining platforms that specialises in digital currency mining services. The current landscape of cryptocurrency mining presents insurmountable obstacles to a novice investor due to the high capital cost and huge power consumption required, the difficulty of obtaining a mining machine and its operational cost.

MaxiMine seeks to resolve this issue by renting out hashing power for mining, allowing any interested party to mine cryptocurrency without fretting over its operations. The maintenance and upgrading of mining equipment and its other relevant details will be handled by MaxiMine instead.

MXM is a token issued by MaxiMine that acts as a store of value in the MaxiMine pool ecosystem. Holding a MXM token is equivalent to a profit of revenue earned from a Bitcoin mining machine. Other than its innate value, the MXM token also presents several advantages as it can be used to not only replace computing power, but also participate in a series of community activities such as community building, renewal of mining equipment, and technical support.

On June 28, 2018, MaxiMine entered into a partnership with Europe-based cryptocurrency exchange HitBTC, launching MXM onto its first exchange platform. Since then, the momentum has been building up over the past year and MXM has been successively listed on four international mainstream exchanges: CoinBene, FCoin, BitForex and Hello Global. It has also formed a strategic partnership with Atomic Wallet from the United States and Mars Wallet from Hong Kong.

The issue price of MXM was at 0.05 CNY. After a stagnation period of 9 months, the value of MXM began to take off. On March 4, 2019, MXM broke through 0.1 yuan for the first time. Since then, the price of the currency has soared. On April 1, MXM reached an all-time high at 1.05 CNY and broke through the top 30 cryptocurrency coins ranked in CoinMarketCap. At present, the MXM currency price has stabilised at around 0.3 CNY and the number of MXM token addresses has reached 114,000 according to data from Etherscan.

Price: 0.101136 CNY, 24h Trading Volume: 1,968,790 USD

All-time high: 1.05 CNY (1 April 2019)

On February 14, 2019, MaxiMine’s MAX Mining Pool APP was officially launched. Users can perform hashing power conversion directly on their mobile phones. In addition, the app provides real-time updates of the values of hashing power, mining machine revenues and other relevant data that users are most concerned with, realizing its vision as an open and transparent platform.

In April, MaxiMine successfully organised “MaxiMine Global Blockchain Summit” in Bangkok, Thailand. During this occasion, MaxiMine released the MXM joint card to be used in the MXM ecosystem. The MXM card is supported by the majority of the mainstream e-commerce platforms and more than 50 million offline business providers. This signifies that MXM has broke through the virtual world and provided real-world applications for its token beyond cyber reality.

In the future, MXM will collaborate with more exchange platforms to unlock various real-life application scenarios.

OmiseGO Network: Market Potential and Hodler Benefits

u/ethmeplz recommended I make my comment a post, so here goes.
I'm just a guy who reads a lot of whitepapers, and the exact details on staking are not released yet, but I'm going to go ahead and tell you that it's gonna be great.
Now I'm going to explain why.
Omise is an existing payment services company serving the Asian marketplace, including Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia. They have tens of thousands of existing retailer payment relationships already operating on Omise's traditional digital and credit card payment infrastructure.
Omise developed OmiseGO to be a public utility. A public utility that they do not own, but will use themselves, bringing the entirety of their existing market onto the OmiseGO blockchain.
It is difficult to keep an updated list of all the Omise business relationships, but here is a recent effort from omise_go https://www.reddit.com/omise_go/comments/7d5j0i/does_anyone_know_the_whole_list_of_partners_so/
If I was to stop here, it would be plenty, but there is so much more, my dear friend!!
Just last week, OmiseGO developers released the OmiseGO Software Development Kit (SDK). The SDK is a package of software tools and OmiseGO team support, so that any person or any company can develop their own application to utilize the OmiseGO Network rails. This makes it very easy for existing retailers or payment services companies to develop a user interface and run an application on OmiseGO rails. This is great for OMG token holders, because OmiseGO is Proof of Stake, and all transaction fees from the network are paid to PoS hodlers.
Stop there? No way.
OmiseGO Network has a built in, on-chain, decentralized exchange. So currency swaps are written in to transactions. This makes it possible to fund your account with one currency, and then make payments from the same account in any other supported currency (at a coffee shop, for example)
This is what OmiseGO means when they say they are currency agnostic. This is also the most important part of OmiseGO, when it comes to international regulation. Remember how OmiseGO SDK will allow other developers to make their own payment services apps that run on OmiseGO network? Well those developers can specify the currencies and types of trading behavior that are allowed on their specific application, and thus it is easy for those developers to comply with the laws of their nation.
Yes, there's more...
From what I understand, OmiseGO Network is an ecosystem in which users can tokenize just about anything, so long as there is liquidity to trade it (users can also stake liquidity on-network, of course). That could mean USDollar Token, Yen Token, Litecoin Token, US Treasury Bond Token, AAA Debt Token, even Delta Airmiles Token or World of Warcraft Gold Token. If there is someone who wants to buy it, using any other currency, a market can exist for it on OmiseGO. They could run the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on OmiseGO, theoretically.
Ripple Network is also doing a tokenized ecosystem, for big banks, you say? Well, that's true, but there is a key difference in how OMG holders will benefit from OmiseGO network versus how XRP holders will benefit from Ripple Network. Ripple Network is centralized and so the XRP token has no Proof of Stake utility.
None of the network fees go to XRP token hodlers.
OmiseGO on the other hand, pays all network revenue to Proof of Stake hodlers.
Also, Forex Exchanges. Also, of course, peer 2 peer transactions. And don't forget about the merchant networks, this is, after all, the answer to "how do I buy a coffee with crypto?"
Here's another link from omise_go about potential markets https://www.reddit.com/omise_go/comments/7mv27i/omisego_potential_market_penetration_analysis/

Welcome To Revolution

A new fiat/cryptocurrency exchange about to be birthed on the 17th of September 2017. The team comprised of big players in the forex industry that are in no way new to the financial and crypto ecosystems for over some years.
With huge liquidity and big institutional investors as players on this platform, the progress from South Africa to Thailand, Japan and India availing multiple fiat currencies and easy fiat transfers through different local banks and cards would surely see new players come-in to the crypto world. More so, the concept of a 50% daily profit sharing with holders of the platform ARTIS TURBA TOKEN (Artis) through a special package called AARP (ARTIS TURBA AFFILIATE REWARD PROGRAMME) would see platform users earn real time passive income in different top cryptocurrencies and fiats as used on the platform

Trying to deposit money into my Forex account. Declined/refused.

Do I have to go to my bank to let them allow me deposit money into my Forex account with my Thai Visa debit card?
Has anyone got experience with Forex in Thailand? No luck depositing so far. My card gets rejected every time I try. I could use this card for any other payments like Agoda 2 weeks ago.
Thank you.

Currency/Foreign Exchange - SE Asia Travel

Hi all,
Not directly related, but it's the finance side of it that I'm interested in.
I've got an 8 week holiday in SEA (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore) coming up at the end of the month - how have you fellow redditors dealt with the currency exchange when travelling through numerous countries.
Do I: - Exchange money at the Forex booths at the Aus/Thai airport upon departure/arrival using a debit card? - Load up a travel card such as the one CBA offers? - Other?
Thanks for your help!

Getting cash in Nha Trang?

My wife and I are traveling for four days from China and landed with about 1.5m dong I got from a friend before we left. I didn't change money in the airport because I was suspicious of their rate and I've always just used my Chinese bank accounts to take out money from the ATMs in Thailand, so I figured I could do the same in Vietnam. Now we're in the evening of our first day, down to about 100k dong, and both of my Chinese bank cards have been declined by local ATMs (don't recall which bank's ATMs). We have enough Chinese Yuan (RMB) to cover our expenses through the trip, but the two places we've seen that do forex in Nha Trang (both hotel lobby counters) were both out of cash for the day and said they couldn't change RMB.
I've got a US card that I could try, but I don't want to unless it's an emergency because it'll probably get declined and locked by my US bank since they don't know I'm in Vietnam. The ideal option would be changing RMB for Dong or finding an ATM that will take one of my Chinese cards, but does anybody know where in town that can be done?

    2. Don't fall for EDA Dragons Den FUD. EDA is a powerful weapon that could kill off or cripple the segwit chain for good. Legacy coin has no EDA crash barrier as this article explains. This is why small blockers use FUD us to disarm the EDA (78 points, 118 comments)

    3. Bitfinex is going to call Segwit2x coins "B2X" and let Core chain retain "BTC" ticker symbol. Bitfinex is therefore calling Segwit2x an altcoin and Core the "real chain". (138 points, 70 comments)
    4. The goal of all the forks appears to be to dilute investment in the true forks: Bitcoin Cash and Segwit2x. A sort of Scorched Earth approach by Blockstream. They are going to try to tear down Bitcoin as they get removed. (35 points, 11 comments)

    6. In light of all these upcoming forks, we need a site where you can put in a BTC address and it checks ALL the forks and says which chains still have a balance for that address. This way you can split your coins and send coins carefully. (6 points, 6 comments)

    3. According to Crooked Greg, Jeff merging opt-in replay protection is "alarming", because it must mean Jeff wants to blacklist people's addresses too. Core devs keep lying and manipulating to stir more drama and further the split in the community. Disgusting! (75 points, 16 comments)

Thailand with family in November

Me, my wife, my parents and my wife's mom are flying into BKK in early Nov. We'll be there for about 12-14 days. We want to see the North (3-4 days), and spend the rest of the time in Krabi to explore the beaches in the surrounding area.
Questions:
  1. is airbnb our best option for booking accommodation? Since we have a group of five, I'm hesitant not having our bookings ahead of time. We found a couple options on airbnb that seem nice, but wondering if I should be looking somewhere else. Budget: $100/night for a large villa or $33/night for three hotel rooms.
  2. We plan to spend about 7-8 days in Krabi. Is it better to move around in the area and stay in different places, or stay in one place and take day trips?
  3. Cash or credit? I have checked sapphire, which has no forex fees, but not sure how prevalent is credit card usage in Thailand.

Help with some practical questions for a backpacking trip of six months in Asia? (xpost r/travel)

Hi backpacking,
I'm a girl from the US, and in a month, I'm taking off on a mostly solo trip through Asia for the next six months, after which point I plan to move to New Zealand with my partner. I'm basically leaving my entire US life behind and taking advantage of this gap where I've now quit my job to do some traveling. I'm hoping for some insight from seasoned long term backpackers on some practical questions.
Tickets
My itinerary is uncertain and I'd like to keep it that way, but I think I want to fly into Bangkok. I want to buy a one way ticket since I don't know where I'll be going next, but I know airlines may stop me for boarding if I do? What's the best workaround?
Visas
I would like to visit Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, at the least. How far in advance do I need to organize visas? How difficult would it be to settle in Thailand for more than a month, and can I go back and forth into the country?
Money
Currently I have all my trip funds saved in a savings account that takes 5 days to transfer funds from, I have a Citi Mastercard debit card, and two Amex cards, one of which has no forex fees that I would prefer to use when possible. What's the best and safest way to keep and spend my money for the trip?
Thanks in advance for any advice! I've been doing a lot of googling but there is a lot of information and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the planning/uprooting my life!
